Start with repeatable work around judgement
Senior accountants create value through judgement, review and client advice. Too much of their time is still consumed by gathering information, checking completeness, preparing first passes and moving context between systems.
Map the work that repeats across clients before choosing the technology. Client onboarding, workpaper preparation, recurring correspondence, research and internal reporting are usually stronger starting points than a broad firm wide assistant.
Measure capacity, not novelty
The commercial case should be expressed in terms the partnership already uses: turnaround time, review effort, write offs, capacity per professional and client responsiveness.
A useful workflow creates measurable operating leverage and leaves the reviewer in control of the final professional judgement.
Build a portfolio, then prioritise
Create one opportunity backlog across the firm and score each workflow by value, frequency, feasibility, data readiness and risk.
The first implementation should be valuable enough to matter and contained enough to teach the firm how AI deployment works.
